About me

Hi,

I’m Grant—an early retired IT manager based in Dundee, Scotland, now embracing a slower, more intentional way of life.
Not long ago, I survived a ruptured brain aneurysm. It was a life-altering experience that forced me to pause, reflect, and rebuild—not just physically, but emotionally and creatively. Recovery hasn’t been easy, but it’s led me somewhere unexpected and deeply rewarding.

My Newfound Passion
During my rehabilitation, I discovered the therapeutic power of hands-on creativity. What started as a simple hobby—cutting designs with a Cricut machine, engraving glass, and working with reclaimed wood—quickly became a lifeline. The focus, precision, and joy of making something beautiful with my own hands helped retrain my mind and restore my confidence.

Crafting with Purpose
Now, I channel my energy into designing meaningful pieces inspired by Scottish landscapes, language, and heritage. Whether it’s a compass motif with a local twist or a scenic sunrise etched into wood, each creation reflects a part of my journey, and the place I call home.

From Recovery to Reinvention
This isn’t just a hobby—it’s a new chapter. I’ve swapped boardrooms for workbenches, spreadsheets for sketchpads, and deadlines for design. Through this site, I hope to share not only my work, but also the story behind it: one of resilience, rediscovery, and the healing power of creativity.

Thanks for stopping by. I’m glad you’re here.
